We all know that unfortunately mental health conditions are on the rise. But, so are Musculoskeletal (MSK). Mental health, in particular stress, is one of the biggest reasons for sickness absence. This is followed by MSK injuries and back pain.

It is alarming to note, that a total of 17.1 million working days were lost because of work-related stress, anxiety and depression in 2022-2023, and 6.6 million working days were lost due to musculoskeletal disorders. These reasons accounted for 67% of all work-related illness.

It is estimated that poor mental health currently costs UK employers £56 billion a year.

So, when we found out about these local free services, we couldn’t keep them to ourselves!

Healthcare Cash Back Plan

Although not free, we have also recently met with a representative from a Healthcare Cashback company and wanted to let you know some further information, in case this may be of interest for you to provide to your employees.

The plans can be set up from as little as £5.19 per person, per month and would offer employees cashback on various things such as:

  • every day health and wellbeing including dental, optical, chiropody, professional therapy (i.e. physiotherapy etc);
  • specialist consultants and tests including MRI scans and x-rays;
  • health screening;
  • life style assessment.

The plan also includes access to professional counselling and a helpline service, with unlimited telephone support, up to 6 counselling sessions, access to GP’s 24/7 and a redundancy premium. In addition to the above you can also receive discounts and rewards to a number of high-street stores, and health and leisure and fitness discounts.

If you’d like to hear more about any of the above services, or even arrange for a representative to talk to you or your team about any of the services, then they are more than happy to do so, so please get in touch as we will gladly make the introductions. We had Freehab come in and talk to the team a few months ago and have a representative coming in from Qwell in a few weeks’ time, as we feel it is just too good a service not to.

Please feel free to share this as far and wide as possible.
